PM Dahal Holds Consultations with Top Leaders on Finalizing Transitional Justice

Kathmandu: Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal 'Prachanda' engaged in consultations with the top leaders of major parties to discuss the finalization of transitional justice.

The meeting, held at the Prime Minister's official residence in Baluwatar, saw the participation of Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba, CPN (UML) Chair KP Sharma Oli, and Nepali Congress Chief Whip Ramesh Lekhak.

During the discussions, leaders addressed various topics, including the completion of pending tasks related to the peace process concerning transitional justice. Manohari Timilsina, the press expert to the Prime Minister, mentioned that the meeting would continue on Monday as well.

The amendment bill for the Commission of Investigation on Enforced Disappeared Persons (CIEDP) and the Truth and Reconciliation (TRC) Act, 2071, is currently under consideration in the Federal Parliament.

Efforts are being made to pass the bill in the upcoming session by reaching a consensus at the highest political level. The government is gearing up to convene the winter session of the Federal Parliament.
