Kathmandu: Nepali Congress (NC) Senior Leader Dr. Sekhar Koirala emphasized the importance of morality and culture for anyone involved in politics, stating that these qualities are essential for political leaders.

Speaking at a Bagmati Province level gathering of the Nepal Democratic Fighters' Association on National Reconciliation Day, Koirala urged participants to provide suggestions for strengthening the NC.

He referred to the three-word mantra of nationality, democracy, and socialism given by BP Koirala to reinforce the Nepali Congress, questioning why the party appears to be weakening over time. Koirala encouraged healthy criticism and called for constructive input into the party's activities.

During the event, Dina Upadhyay, Joint General Secretary of the NC, recommended maintaining records of senior leaders' contributions and suggested that they be honored based on their service to the party.

Balkrishna Dahal, Central Chairman of the Nepal Democratic Fighters' Association, demanded that the Nepali government issue identity cards to democratic fighters, acknowledging their significant contributions to Nepali politics.
