Karnali Province Focuses on Human Resource Management and Prosperity Development Plan

Karnali: Karnali province government, led by Chief Minister Rajkumar Sharma, marked the completion of its first year by highlighting various achievements and progress made during this period. CM Sharma outlined the government's multifaceted efforts, spanning development projects, policy decisions, legislative actions, and strategic planning.

Key accomplishments during the first year include the approval of four bills and 18 regulations, the registration of three bills in the province assembly, and the formulation of 16 work procedures, five directives, three standards, and six strategic plans. Additionally, the province government granted principle agreement for 12 bills.

Addressing human resource management, CM Sharma stated that 2,929 approved staff posts were adjusted in Karnali, fulfilling 2,086 vacant positions, including those deputed from the federal government. The Public Service Commission recommended employees working on a contractual basis.

The province government appointed 826 employees in local governments and 322 in the province through the province public service commission. The organization and management survey is in its final stages after discussions in all ministries.

On the social front, the government provided group accident insurance worth Rs 28.2 million to families affected by the Jajarkot earthquake, along with life sustenance allowances for survivors of disasters and the injured. Martyr memorial allowances were distributed to the families of martyrs.

Other notable achievements include the distribution of scholarships for higher education, progress in the construction of the Karnali province stadium, registration of new industries, expansion of irrigation facilities, and infrastructural development. The government has prioritized developing a concept note for the second five-year plan and is actively working on a project bank.
