Kathmandu: The Department of Hydrology and Meteorology has announced that a weather pattern of partly to generally cloudy skies persists across the nation, with light rain occurring in one or two areas of the Koshi province. This weather phenomenon is attributed to the influence of westerly winds, local winds, and a low-pressure system originating from Bihar, India.

Anticipating the afternoon conditions, the Department forecasts partly cloudy skies nationwide. Light rain accompanied by thunder and lightning is expected in various hilly regions, spanning Koshi, Madhes, Bagmati, Gandaki, and Lumbini provinces. Additionally, the Tarai region may experience light rain with the possibility of thunder and lightning, while high hilly and mountainous areas could witness light snowfall.

As the day progresses into the night, the country will remain under partly to generally cloudy skies. Light to moderate rain, accompanied by thunder, lightning, and gusty winds, is forecasted in select areas of Koshi, Madhes, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces, with light snowfall predicted in high altitude regions of Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces.

The Meteorological Forecasting Division underscores the likelihood of light rain with thunder and lightning in several hilly regions, including Koshi, Madhes, Bagmati, Gandaki, and Lumbini provinces, and sporadically in the Tarai over the next 24 hours. Furthermore, there remains a possibility of light snowfall in certain high hilly and mountainous areas.
