Kathmandu: The Department of Hydrology and Meteorology has reported that light to moderate rain with thunder and lightning is occurring in several places across Koshi, Lumbini, and Karnali provinces, as well as in one or two locations in other regions due to the active monsoon.

This afternoon, the weather is expected to be generally to completely cloudy. There is a forecast for light to moderate rain with thunder and lightning in many places across Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, and Sudurpaschim provinces. Some areas in these provinces are likely to experience heavy rain. Lumbini and Sudurpaschim provinces might also see heavy rainfall in one or two locations. Specifically, heavy rain is anticipated in one or two places in Gandaki province.

Later tonight, the weather is forecasted to be partly to completely cloudy across the country, with light to moderate rain and thunderstorms expected in many places in Koshi, Madhes, Bagmati, Gandaki, and Lumbini regions, and in some places elsewhere. There is a high likelihood of heavy rain in some locations within Koshi, Madhes, Bagmati, Gandaki, and Lumbini regions.

Over the next 24 hours, heavy rain is expected in various parts of the country, particularly in one or two places within Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, and Lumbini provinces.
