Kathmandu: Nepali nationals residing in Kyrgyzstan have been urged to exercise caution and remain indoors until the situation in the country stabilizes. This cautionary advice follows reports of violent incidents targeting foreign students in Bishkek, the capital of Kyrgyzstan.

Assuring the safety of Nepali citizens in the region, the Embassy of Nepal in Islamabad, Pakistan has confirmed that approximately 280 Nepalis residing in and around Bishkek are reported to be secure. The Embassy has extended its support and assistance to Nepali nationals, urging them to reach out for any information or aid required. They can contact the Embassy through phone at +92512610321 (including WhatsApp) or via email at eonislamabad@mofa.gov.np.

The Kyrgyz Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued a statement on Saturday, affirming that the situation is under control. The ministry stated, "From the moment information about the incident was received, law enforcement agencies of the Kyrgyz Republic took prompt measures to detain persons involved in the event, both foreign citizens and citizens of the Kyrgyz Republic."

In light of these developments, Nepali citizens in Kyrgyzstan are advised to stay vigilant, avoid unnecessary movement, and adhere to local authorities' instructions until the situation stabilizes.
