National Coalition Government Formed for Political Stability, Says Nepali Congress

Kathmandu: The Nepali Congress (NC) has announced that its recent power-sharing agreement with the CPN (UML) aims to amend the constitution, ensure political stability, and improve the country's economic situation. This decision was made during a meeting of NC office-bearers at the residence of NC President Sher Bahadur Deuba in Budhanilkantha.

The NC meeting concluded that a consensus with the UML was necessary to address issues arising during the implementation of the constitution through national consensus. NC Chief Whip Ramesh Lekhak provided a briefing on the power-sharing agreement reached with the UML on Monday night. The agreement includes collaboration on various issues, notably the constitution amendment.

Speaking to media after the meeting, NC Spokesperson Dr. Prakash Sharan Mahat stated that an agreement was reached to alternate leadership of the government and to include other parties in the coalition.

The move comes as part of efforts to resolve longstanding political challenges and to foster a stable governance environment. The NC and UML have agreed to take turns leading the government, ensuring a collaborative approach to tackling the nation's problems and achieving sustainable development.
