Biratnagar: CPN (Maoist Centre) Chairperson and former Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal 'Prachanda' has stated that his party is not opposed to amending the constitution, but cautioned against any move that would undermine citizens' rights or erode key achievements.

Speaking to the media at Biratnagar airport, Dahal emphasized that while the Maoist Centre is open to discussions on constitutional changes, it would not tolerate any attempt to diminish the provisions of proportional representation or inclusion, which were designed to uplift marginalized communities such as Madhesis, Dalits, Muslims, and indigenous groups. He reiterated that these rights were hard-won through the Maoist-led 'people's war.'

Dahal also addressed the party's exit from government, attributing it to its efforts to combat corruption and middlemen. He expressed optimism about the party’s future, highlighting its opportunity to reorganize, strengthen, and rebuild.

As the leader of the opposition, Dahal warned the current government to act in the best interests of the nation and its citizens, stressing that the Maoist Centre would remain vigilant in defending national and public welfare.
