79th United Nations General Assembly Begins Tomorrow

New York: The 79th session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) is set to commence tomorrow, running from September 10 to 30. This year's theme is "Leaving no one behind: acting together for the advancement of peace, sustainable development, and human dignity for present and future generations."

While the General Assembly starts tomorrow, the high-level general debate will take place from September 24 to 28, with the session concluding on September 30. Notably, Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli will represent Nepal and address the Assembly on September 26.

Leaders from across the globe will discuss pressing issues such as global conflicts, post-COVID economic challenges, inflation, poverty, climate change, and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Nepal will also emphasize its commitment to the SDGs and share its progress during the "Summit of the Future 2024," scheduled from September 22 to 23. Additionally, Nepal plans to engage in high-level political forums and discussions with its development partners during the Assembly.
