Kathmandu: CPN (Maoist Centre) Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal 'Prachanda' has criticized the current government for missteps in its early days, claiming that certain actions taken undermined its effectiveness.

Speaking at the eighth gathering of the Chitwan-Kathmandu liaison coordination committee on Saturday, Dahal expressed disappointment over the government's removal of key figures, including Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) Executive Director Kul Man Ghising and Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives Indira Rana.

Dahal praised Ghising for ending load-shedding in Nepal and lauded Rana for her international contributions to women and children's issues, arguing that their removal was unpopular among the public and opposition parties. He described the government as weak in promoting good governance and urged citizens to continue raising their voices against corruption.

Reflecting on his tenure as Prime Minister, Dahal emphasized his administration’s focus on good governance, social justice, and prosperity, suggesting that these initiatives were a foundation for establishing socialism in Nepal. He argued that his government was ousted while actively working against corruption, which has since motivated him to plan future actions.

Dahal also mentioned that his party, the Maoist Centre, now has a unique opportunity to strengthen its position and will focus on party building. He highlighted his party’s anti-corruption agenda, Nepal’s global advocacy for peace and climate justice, and called for collaboration with progressive, leftist, and democratic forces to safeguard the rights of the people.

Other party leaders, including Shreekrishna Adhikari and Yashoda Subedi, were also present at the event.
