Nepali Migrant Worker Dies in Portugal

Kathmandu: A 33-year-old Nepali migrant worker, Ganeshman Sarangkoti, died in his sleep in Portugal on Friday, May 20, 2023. Sarangkoti had been working in a hotel in Portimao, Portugal, for the past eight months. He had previously worked in Dubai and Malta.

Sarangkoti's body was found by his roommate on Saturday morning, May 21, 2023. He had no known health problems and the cause of death is still under investigation.

Sarangkoti's family in Nepal has been informed of his death. They are currently making arrangements to have his body repatriated.

A fund-raising campaign has been launched to help cover the cost of Sarangkoti's funeral and transportation. 

Sarangkoti's death is a tragic loss for his family and friends. He was a hard-working man who was trying to provide for his loved ones. His death is a reminder of the dangers that migrant workers face all over the world.
