Agreement on Nepal-US Bilateral Cooperation Signed

Washington DC: Nepal and the United States have formalized an agreement to establish a bilateral consultation mechanism, aiming to strengthen diplomatic relations and cooperation between the two countries. The signing ceremony took place at the U.S. State Department on Monday.

Foreign Minister Dr. Arzu Rana Deuba signed the agreement on behalf of Nepal, while John Bass, Acting Undersecretary for Political Affairs, represented the United States. The mechanism will facilitate regular consultations and dialogues between officials from the foreign ministries of both nations, to be held in Kathmandu and Washington DC.

During the event, the Foreign Ministers from both countries discussed various issues of mutual interest, signaling the continued collaboration between Nepal and the United States.

The signing was attended by prominent figures, including Nepal's Foreign Secretary Sewa Lamsal, Nepal's Charge d'Affaires to the U.S., Kumar Raj Kharel, and Donald Lu, Assistant Secretary of State for South and Central Asian Affairs.

Following the ceremony, Foreign Minister Dr. Arzu Rana Deuba departed for Doha on the same day.
