Gandaki: Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) President Rabi Lamichhane has been taken to Pokhara for questioning related to allegations of fraud involving the Sooryadarshan Cooperatives Credit and Savings Ltd, as well as organized crime. The former Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister was arrested in Kathmandu on Friday and transported to Pokhara by road after the District Court Kaski authorized police to hold him in judicial custody for investigation.

Lamichhane arrived at the District Police Office, Kaski, around 3:00 am following a health check-up at the Pokhara Institute of Health Sciences. Due to a public holiday today, he is expected to be produced before the court tomorrow.

Nepal Police spokesperson SSP Dan Bahadur Karki confirmed that legal proceedings have been initiated following the court's approval for Lamichhane's arrest. The investigation focuses on his alleged involvement in the misappropriation of funds from Pokhara's Suryadarshan Cooperative, in collusion with its founder, Geetendra Babu (GB) Rai, for use in the Gorkha Media Network.

Further legal actions will proceed as the investigation into the misuse of cooperative funds continues.
