Chief Justice Raut Prioritizes Judiciary Reforms

Kathmandu: Newly appointed Chief Justice Prakash Man Singh Raut has pledged to focus on reforms within the judiciary, emphasizing transparency and accountability as his top priorities. Speaking at a program organized by the Constitutional and Judicial Journalists Forum (CJJF) on Monday, CJ Raut expressed his commitment to restoring public trust in the judiciary.

"My primary focus will be on judiciary reforms. It's my constitutional duty to ensure transparency and accountability, and I will work sincerely towards that goal," CJ Raut stated. He also highlighted his intention to implement the recommendations of a report prepared by former Justice Hari Krishna Karki.

CJ Raut assured that he would work diligently for the nation, its people, and the implementation of the constitution while respecting citizens' freedom of expression. He also mentioned that the four vacant positions for justices at the Supreme Court would soon be filled.

The CJJF, including Chairperson Kalika Khadka and other law reporters, extended their congratulations and best wishes to the new Chief Justice during the event.
