Police Submit Report on Swarnalaxmi Cooperatives Embezzlement Case to District Attorney

Kathmandu: The District Police Office, Kathmandu, has submitted its investigation report on the embezzlement case involving Swarnalaxmi Multipurpose Cooperatives of Kalimati to the District Attorney Office.
The report identifies 44 individuals, including Rabi Lamichhane, Chairperson of the Rastriya Swatantra Party, as potential defendants in the case, according to Kathmandu District Police Spokesperson Nawaraj Adhikari.
Police allege that the defendants were involved in an organized fraud scheme, embezzling Rs 1.19 billion from cooperative deposits. Arrest warrants have been issued against all 44 suspects.
The District Attorney Office has confirmed receipt of the report and stated that it will review the findings before initiating prosecution.
This high-profile case has drawn significant public attention due to the involvement of prominent figures and the scale of the alleged financial misconduct.
