Gandaki: Nepali Congress (NC) General Secretary Gagan Thapa has urged party candidates to focus on presenting an "achievement paper" to the public during the 2084 BS elections. Speaking at a province-level workshop titled "Party and People's Representatives in Democratic System", organized by the NC Gandaki Province Committee in Pokhara, Thapa emphasized the importance of tangible results and proactive governance in the coming years.

Thapa called on elected representatives to deliver visible outcomes that resonate with the public, stating, "We must work responsibly and create a situation where we can present a record of achievements to voters in the next election. Several accomplishments have been made under the leadership of the Congress, but they have not been adequately publicized."

Highlighting the need for collaboration, Thapa stressed fostering dialogue between the party organization and elected representatives to better address public expectations. He further underscored the multi-faceted responsibilities the party faces and emphasized the importance of strong leadership emerging from the NC's upcoming 15th General Convention.

The General Secretary announced plans to finalize the renewal of active party membership by mid-April 2025. He also outlined a timeline for amending the party's statute, which will be endorsed after a statute convention, paving the way for the general convention process.

Chief Minister of Gandaki Province Surendra Raj Pandey also addressed the event, urging the party to take ownership of achievements made under NC-led governments. The program was presided over by NC Gandaki Province President Shukraraj Sharma, who reiterated the need for unity and proactive engagement among party members to strengthen public trust.

Thapa’s remarks signal a strategic shift for the Nepali Congress, focusing on tangible governance outcomes and transparent communication with the public as the 2084 BS elections approach.
