Kathmandu: Nepali Congress (NC) President and former Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba reaffirmed that the democratic republic system in Nepal has successfully transferred power to its citizens.

Addressing the 30th anniversary celebration of the Association of District Coordination Committees on Friday, Deuba emphasized the importance of local governance in realizing federalism, highlighting the pivotal role of District Coordination Committees in coordinating and monitoring local-level governance.

Commitment to Constitutional Revision

District Committees as Democracy’s Lifeline
Deuba called the local level the "lifeline for democracy," emphasizing its role as a direct connection between the government and the people. He urged District Coordination Committees to prioritize inclusion, transparency, good governance, and ecological sustainability while coordinating development efforts.

Support for Local Governance and Development
