Kathmandu: Nepal Oil Corporation has urged the public to purchase and use petroleum products and LP gas only in the required quantity.

Appeal Against Unnecessary Storage
In a press release issued on Wednesday, the corporation requested consumers not to store additional gas cylinders unnecessarily. It advised that households using one cylinder per month should avoid refilling or keeping extra cylinders. The corporation also encouraged people to increase the use of electricity instead of gas as much as possible.

Warning of Action Against Irregularities
The corporation stated that Nepal is fully dependent on imported petroleum products and therefore careful consumption is necessary. It warned that strict action will be taken against those found hoarding gas cylinders, selling gas or petroleum products at inflated prices, or illegally marketing new cylinders.

Concern Over Global Market Situation
According to the corporation, the ongoing situation in the Middle East could affect the global fuel market. However, it clarified that the import, sale, and distribution of fuel and LP gas in Nepal are currently continuing in a regular manner.
