Three Arrested in Gold Smuggling Operation

Kathmandu: In a significant operation, the Department of Revenue Investigation successfully seized a substantial quantity of gold from the vicinity of Tribhuvan International Airport. This large haul of gold had managed to pass through customs undetected yesterday evening.

According to reliable sources, the Department received specific information leading to a raid, during which approximately 80-100 kilograms of the precious metal were confiscated. The successful operation resulted in the arrest of three individuals allegedly involved in the smuggling of the gold, which was suspected to have been brought in from Hong Kong.

Director General of the Department, Nabaraj Dhungana, confirmed the arrests and stated that further investigation was underway. As a consequence, additional details concerning the incident will be made available to the public by tomorrow.

This seizure represents a significant blow to illegal smuggling operations, and the authorities are working diligently to uncover more information about the individuals and networks behind this illicit activity.
