Rasuwa: In a vibrant display of religious devotion, thousands of worshippers have congregated at Gosaikunda since the early hours of today to partake in the revered Janai Purnima festival.

The tranquil shores of Gosaikunda have drawn more than 4,000 devotees who have embarked on a pilgrimage to mark the occasion of Janai Purnima. Situated at a striking altitude of 14,370 feet above sea level, Gosaikunda holds a significant place in the hearts of the faithful.

As per reports, a substantial number of devotees reached Gosaikunda by the evening of the preceding Wednesday. Additionally, more pilgrims are en route to the lake, contributing to the congregation's fervor.

An integral custom of this festival involves devotees taking a ceremonial plunge into the pristine waters of the lake, a ritual that is believed to bestow blessings for familial happiness and unity upon them.

To ensure the well-being and convenience of the devotees, various entities have come together in support. The Nepali Army, Gosaikunda Rural Municipality, Rasuwa District Hospital, District Ayurved Health Centre, and the Himalaya Rescue Association have all extended their services to cater to the needs of the worshippers.

Chief District Officer Prakash Chandra Adhikari emphasized the collective efforts being made to create an accommodating and supportive environment for the multitude of devotees who have converged at Gosaikunda to celebrate Janai Purnima.
