Rasuwa: A woman has been apprehended with one kilogram of gold that was being smuggled into Nepal. Pachemu Tamang, a 41-year-old resident of Gosaikunda Rural Municipality-3, was arrested near the Miteri Bridge by border security personnel.
She had attempted to bring the gold into Nepal from Kerung, crossing through the Rasuwagadhi border. During her arrest, Tamang was found to be in ill health and was subsequently admitted to Rasuwa Hospital for treatment.
Authorities are conducting further investigations into the matter. Smuggling of precious metals is a serious offense in many countries, and it often involves organized criminal networks attempting to evade customs and taxation.
