BP Literary Award Awarded to Bimal, Freedom Fighter Honour to Sharma

Kathmandu: The Jananayak BP Koirala Memorial Trust has announced the recipients of this year's BP Koirala Memorial Literary Award and BP Koirala Memorial Freedom Fighter Honour. The awards were revealed on the occasion of the 110th birth anniversary of leader BP Koirala.
The literary honour award for 2080 BS (Nepali calendar) is being presented to senior literary writer Dr. Rajendra Bimal from Janakpur, while the freedom fighter honour for 2080 BS is being bestowed upon freedom fighter Dilliraman Sharma from Rupandehi, who is 92 years old.
These awards are given to individuals who have made significant contributions to literature and democracy. The literary honour award comes with a cash prize of Rs 101,000, while the freedom fighter honour carries a prize of Rs 51,000.
The award selection committee, headed by coordinator Dr. Dhruba Chandra Gautam, recommended the recipients for these prestigious awards. President Ramchandra Paudel will officially present the awards on the occasion of the 110th BP Jayanti, which falls on September 8th.
