Mahottari: Mahantha Thakur, the Chairman of the Loktantrik Samajbadi Party (LSP), emphasized that the Madhesh agenda remains pertinent and robust. Speaking at the extended meeting of the LSP provincial committee in Bardibas, Chairman Thakur reaffirmed the party's commitment to delivering the party's agenda to the people.

He noted that some of the political agendas raised by the party were established through movements, despite continuous state suppression. Thakur urged party leaders and cadres to engage with the public and raise awareness about the achievements of the Madhesh movement, advocating for further rights.

The meeting was attended by top leaders Rajendra Mahato, Sarat Singh Bhandari, Anil Kumar Jha, and others. Province committee chairman Jitendra Sonal explained that the extended meeting aimed to set new agendas and strategies for the Madhesh region and address party weaknesses, emphasizing the party's commitment to the Madhesh agenda.

The party was formed before the 2064BS Constituent Assembly election by Madheshi leaders who had left mainstream parties to establish the Tarai/Madhesh Loktantrik Party based on the Madhesh movement's foundation. Over the years, the party has undergone several splits and mergers but continues to focus on expanding its organizational base at the local level.
