Kathmandu: Nepali Congress Joint General Secretary Mahendra Yadav, who was subjected to an assault with a sharp weapon earlier today, is reportedly in stable condition, according to medical authorities.

Yadav is presently receiving treatment at the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) under the vigilant care of physicians at the National Trauma Center. A statement from the center's Chief Medical Superintendent, Dr. Badri Rijal, confirmed that Yadav's condition has stabilized.

Although Yadav sustained severe head injuries, a CT-scan revealed no internal damage. He was admitted to the center at approximately 2:30 pm today with injuries to his head and neck, accompanied by bleeding. Currently, he is being closely monitored in the ICU.

The attack occurred as Yadav was returning after attending an event at the Reporters Club Nepal on Wednesday afternoon. Authorities are investigating the incident.
