Leaders Pay Respects to Late Subas Nembang at Chyasal

Lalitpur: Prominent political leaders, including Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal 'Prachanda' and former President Bidya Devi Bhandari, converged at the CPN (UML) party office in Chyasal to pay their respects to the late Subas Nembang, former Constituent Assembly Chair and Speaker. They offered garlands as a mark of tribute to Nembang, who played a significant role in Nepal's democratic movement and constitution-making process.

The dignitaries in attendance included Speaker Devraj Ghimire, National Assembly Chairperson Ganesh Timilsina, Nepali Congress President and former Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba, Chairperson of CPN (Unified Socialist) and former Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal, senior leader Jhala Nath Khanal, Deputy Speaker Indira Rana Magar, Deputy Prime Minister and Defence Minister Purna Bahadur Khadka, Finance Minister Dr Prakash Sharan Mahat, and Minister for Communications and Information Technology Rekha Sharma. The then Council of Ministers' Chairperson Khilraj Regmi was also among those who paid their respects to Nembang.

Minister Rekha Sharma informed the media that the government had decided to accord state honors to Nembang during his final rites and declared a public holiday on that day to honor his contributions to the democratic movement and the process of constitution-making.

Leaders from various political parties, including CPN (UML) Vice-Chair Bishnu Prasad Poudel, Deputy General-Secretary Pradeep Gyawali, and Prem Bahadur Ale of the CPN (Unified Socialist), joined the gathering to commemorate the late leader.

A multitude of party members and supporters also assembled at the CPN (UML) party office to pay their last respects to Subas Nembang.

In addition, the Socialist Front expressed deep sorrow over Nembang's passing, recognizing him as a stalwart of the democratic movement. The Front Coordinator, Madhav Kumar Nepal, conveyed heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family and wished for eternal peace for the departed soul.

Rastriya Janamorcha also expressed grief over the loss of leader Nembang, who passed away due to cardiac arrest at 1:40 am.
