Kathmandu: Nepal's Minister for Foreign Affairs, NP Saud, has appealed to Qatar's State Minister for Foreign Affairs, Soltan bin Saad Al-Muraikhi, to take decisive action for the release of Bipin Joshi from the captivity of Hamas. Bipin Joshi is among a group of 50 individuals reportedly held by the militant group Hamas.
During the meeting, the Qatari minister was specifically requested to initiate efforts for the release of Bipin Joshi. Deepak Raj Joshi, Chief Private Secretary to the Foreign Minister, conveyed that the Qatar's State Minister assured prompt actions for Joshi's release.
Foreign Minister Saud commended Qatar's role in facilitating the ceasefire in the Gaza conflict and its efforts to liberate individuals still held by Hamas. Earlier, the Minister had summoned Israel's ambassador to Nepal to discuss the same matter. Bipin Joshi, a Nepali student, was taken hostage by Hamas on October 7, and tragically, 10 Nepali students lost their lives in the assault by the rebel group.
