Kathmandu: Gaushala-26, the victim of a rape case, has officially filed a complaint with the Cyber Bureau of Nepal Police against an individual who violated her privacy by publicly disclosing her name and photo.

Bureau spokesperson Pashupati Kumar Ray confirmed the receipt of the complaint and stated that an investigation has been initiated into the privacy breach. Gaushala-26's move to report the violation comes after cricketer Sandip Lamichhane, convicted of raping her, received an eight-year jail term on Wednesday, along with a fine of half a million rupees.

The individual responsible for the privacy breach is identified as Diwas Sapkota, a foreign committee member of Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP), currently residing in Japan. Sapkota's action of releasing Gaushala-26's photo and name prompted the party to suspend him in response to the privacy violation. The Cyber Bureau is now actively investigating the matter.
