Kathmandu: After a productive day-long official visit to Nepal, Japan's Minister of Foreign Affairs, KAMIKAWA Yoko, returned home last night. This marked her inaugural visit to Nepal since assuming office as Japan's foreign minister.

Foreign Secretary Sewa Lamsal bid farewell to Minister KAMIKAWA at the VVIP lounge of Tribhuvan International Airport, symbolizing the conclusion of her diplomatic mission.

During her stay, Minister KAMIKAWA was honored with a dinner hosted by Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Narayankaji Shrestha, underscoring the warmth and camaraderie between the two nations.

Engaging in high-level diplomatic discussions, Minister KAMIKAWA met with President Ramchandra Poudel at Sheetal Niwas and Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal 'Prachanda' at Singha Durbar, reaffirming Japan's commitment to bilateral relations.

In addition to official meetings, Minister KAMIKAWA immersed herself in Nepal's rich cultural heritage, visiting the historic Hanumandhoka palace square and indulging in the local literary scene by purchasing Nepali books at Mandala Book Point in Jamal.

Her visit signifies the enduring ties between Japan and Nepal, characterized by mutual respect, cooperation, and a shared vision for a prosperous future.
