Atmosphere for Investment Should Be Improved: PM Oli

Kathmandu: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has emphasized the need to enhance the investment environment in Nepal to attract both domestic and foreign investors. During a meeting with Sushil Bhatta, the Chief Executive Officer of the Investment Board Nepal (IBN), who presented the IBN's performance report for the fiscal year 2023/24, PM Oli stressed the importance of continuous improvement in the country's investment climate.

Prime Minister Oli, who also chairs the IBN, stated, "In order to attract more domestic and foreign private investment, the environment for investing in the country should be improved while the institutional capacity of the Board should be enhanced to develop it as a center of excellence in public-private partnership."

CEO Bhatta briefed the Prime Minister on the progress made in project development, investment promotion, and institutional strengthening. He also discussed the challenges encountered during project implementation, the board's efforts to resolve these issues, and the lessons learned. Looking ahead, he outlined future scenarios and plans to further boost investment in Nepal.
