Kathmandu: This year's monsoon has claimed the lives of 154 people across Nepal. Landslides, floods, and inundation have caused widespread devastation. The casualties include three in Kathmandu Valley, 25 in Koshi, six in Madhes, 20 in Bagmati, 43 in Gandaki, 29 in Lumbini, eight in Karnali, and ten in Sudurpaschim province, according to the Nepal Police Headquarters News Room.
Additionally, 47 people are reported missing and 186 have been injured. The disasters have led to significant property damage, with 384 houses waterlogged, and damage inflicted on 261 houses, 95 huts, 43 bridges, two school buildings, and two government offices.
Since June 10, 4,238 families have been displaced due to these monsoon-related disasters.
