Attariya (Kailali): Home Minister Ramesh Lekhak has defended the coalition government formed between Nepal's two largest political parties, the Nepali Congress (NC) and the Communist Party of Nepal (UML), citing special circumstances that necessitated their collaboration.

Speaking at a press conference organized by Press Union Kailali at Dhangadhi Airport, Lekhak acknowledged that it is unusual for the first and second largest parties to join forces in parliamentary systems. However, he stressed that this alliance was formed to address the country's pressing needs, including economic revitalization, the establishment of good governance, and the acceleration of development projects.

Lekhak pointed to the historical significance of such collaborations, noting that when the NC and UML have worked together in the past, the country has seen substantial progress. He highlighted key achievements, such as the drafting of the constitution, the fight against the Panchayat system, the establishment of multi-party democracy, and the peaceful resolution of the decade-long armed conflict.

The Home Minister emphasized that the current coalition is crucial for creating a stable government capable of addressing the nation's critical issues and ensuring the rule of law. He underscored that this partnership was formed with the goal of delivering stability and progress during a time of national need.
