Kathmandu: Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Bishnu Prasad Paudel expressed optimism that Nepal's sovereign credit rating would significantly enhance the country's investment environment.

Speaking during a meeting with the evaluation team from Fitch Ratings, currently in Nepal for the credit rating process, Paudel stated that the credit rating would be crucial in fostering favorable conditions for economic development and attracting investment, particularly in infrastructure and other key sectors.

The Fitch Ratings team has shown interest in various financial aspects of Nepal, including revenue mobilization, capital expenditure, public debt, and foreign aid utilization. Paudel emphasized that once the credit rating process is completed, it would create a more favorable atmosphere for investors to confidently engage in the country's economic activities.
