Strict Action to be Taken Against Kite, Drone, and Balloon Flying Near TIA

Kathmandu: Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) authorities have warned of stringent action against people found indulging in flying kites, drones and balloons in the airport vicinity.

The airport's new chief as well general manager, Jagannath Niraula requested that this practise is very dangerous in view of the festival season.High kite flying during the Dashain, one of the Indian subcontinent's major festivals is also near increasing kite flying around air strip poses great risk to flights safety he said. Drones, balloons and laser lights are banned from the area.

Niraula cautioned that the administration would take legal action if mechanical vehicles were discovered to be in violation of safety regulations, and called upon the public not to disrupt aircraft operations.
