During a meeting with a committee led by Shambhu Prasad Acharya, a former senior official of the World Health Organization, Minister Paudel emphasized the need to enhance the system to ensure better access to healthcare for the general public.
Paudel acknowledged the lack of resources as a key issue but stressed the importance of practical and actionable recommendations to expand and improve the insurance scheme. He noted efforts to increase the insurance coverage from Rs 100,000 to Rs 500,000, aiming to make healthcare more accessible. Experts, including Dr. Bhagwan Koirala, assured that their recommendations would be based on thorough research.
