Pennsylvania [US]: With less than two weeks until the U.S. presidential election, Vice President Kamala Harris has voiced her commitment to serving as a leader for “all Americans” should she be elected. Speaking with reporters before departing for campaign events in Georgia, Harris emphasized that she has observed people across the country, both men and women, expressing concerns about the future of American democracy. Harris underscored her aspiration to lead with optimism and tackle the pressing issues faced by the nation, including economic challenges, affordable living, and homeownership.

Addressing polling trends, Harris dismissed notions of a gender divide in support, asserting that her campaign interactions reflect widespread concerns from all demographics. She pointed out that many Americans are calling for a leader who prioritizes both economic stability and personal freedoms, specifically mentioning her commitment to women’s rights. Harris added that she believes former President Donald Trump’s policies have eroded certain freedoms, notably women’s reproductive rights, and pledged to restore and protect these liberties if elected.

On immigration, Harris described securing the U.S. border as one of her “highest priorities.” She expressed her intent to pass a bipartisan border security bill, accusing Trump of hindering effective solutions for immigration reform. Harris emphasized a pragmatic approach to fixing the immigration system and vowed to prioritize practical solutions rather than politicize the issue. She stated that addressing immigration would be a key part of her administration, aiming to deliver “practical solutions” to overhaul the system.

Harris will soon campaign alongside prominent figures, including former President Barack Obama and former First Lady Michelle Obama, underscoring her strong ties within the Democratic Party. A rally near Atlanta will feature Bruce Springsteen, with Obama endorsing her campaign and joining her efforts in Michigan. Harris expressed gratitude for the support, describing herself as “honored” to have the endorsement of influential figures who bring substantial energy and attention to her campaign events.
