PM Oli Consults Former Leaders Ahead of Thailand Visit, BIMSTEC Summit

Kathmandu: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has held consultations with former Prime Ministers and Foreign Ministers regarding his upcoming official visit to Thailand and participation in the sixth BIMSTEC Summit.
The discussion, held at the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers in Singha Durbar on Sunday, focused on maximizing Nepal’s economic, energy, tourism, and cultural cooperation through the regional forum.
Nepal’s Role in Regional Cooperation
PM Oli emphasized that he would represent Nepal’s interests while respecting regional and global commitments. He highlighted the importance of revitalizing SAARC and the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) and assured that he would consider the suggestions made during the meeting.
The visit, which is Oli’s first official trip to Thailand, is expected to create new opportunities for Nepal in bilateral and regional cooperation.
At the invitation of Thai Prime Minister Paetongtarn Shinawatra, PM Oli will visit Thailand from April 1 to 5 and attend the BIMSTEC Summit.

Former Prime Ministers Dr. Baburam Bhattarai and Khilraj Regmi, along with Foreign Minister Dr. Arzu Rana Deuba and former Foreign Ministers Upendra Yadav, Ishwor Pokhrel, Raghubir Mahaseth, Dr. Bhesh Bahadur Thapa, Ramesh Nath Pande, Dr. Prakash Chandra Lohani, Dr. Prakash Sharan Mahat, NP Saud, and Dr. Bimala Rai Paudyal, provided their insights and recommendations during the meeting.
