Kathmandu: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has called on businesspersons to invest confidently, citing the country's current political stability as a key foundation for economic growth.

Speaking at the inaugural session of the 74th annual general assembly of the Nepal Chamber of Commerce on Wednesday, PM Oli emphasized that stable governance has opened the door for development. He encouraged industrialists to bring forward constructive and innovative investment initiatives by leveraging science and technology.

Highlighting the importance of responsible use of emerging tools, the Prime Minister remarked, “Artificial Intelligence should be used to boost production and productivity, not to spread misinformation or defame individuals and institutions.”

PM Oli also stressed the need to increase foreign investment and joint ventures, urging entrepreneurs to actively attract international investors to Nepal’s potential sectors. “Investment is not just for the benefit of the business community but for the progress of the entire country,” he said.

The Prime Minister acknowledged the Nepal Chamber of Commerce for welcoming the government’s ordinance aimed at boosting economic development and appreciated the Chamber’s support in policymaking.

Addressing governance issues, PM Oli admitted that corruption remains a challenge and underscored the need for collective action to tackle it effectively.

On the political front, he reaffirmed that the government formed by the two major parties was established for meaningful change and expressed confidence that the coalition would continue even after the next elections.

During the program, PM Oli presented awards to various industrialists and business figures and also launched a new publication by the Nepal Chamber of Commerce.
