Kathmandu: Nepal Oil Corporation (NOC) has adjusted the prices of petroleum products, lowering the price of petrol while increasing the prices of diesel, kerosene, and aviation fuel.

In a press release issued on the evening of Shrawan 15, NOC announced that the price of petrol has been reduced by Rs 1 per liter, effective from 12 midnight. The new retail price of petrol is now Rs 159 per liter.

However, in contrast to the petrol price cut, the corporation has increased the prices of diesel and kerosene by Rs 2 per liter. With this revision, both diesel and kerosene will now cost Rs 150 per liter.

Aviation fuel prices have also been revised. The price for domestic aviation fuel has been raised by Rs 3, bringing it to Rs 128 per liter, while the price for international aviation fuel has increased by US$ 21 per kiloliter.

There has been no change in the price of LPG used for cooking.

While the reduction in petrol prices may offer slight relief to private vehicle users, the hike in diesel and kerosene is expected to increase transportation and commodity costs, potentially impacting the overall cost of living.
