Kathmandu: Prime Minister Sushila Karki and Home Minister Om Prakash Aryal held discussions with Election Commission officials on the preparations for the House of Representatives elections scheduled for Falgun 21.
According to Commission Information Officer Narayan Prasad Bhattarai, the talks focused on manpower, materials, resources, and the voter list required to successfully conduct the polls.
Commitment to Peaceful and Fair Elections
Both sides agreed to cooperate closely to ensure the elections are held in a peaceful, fearless, and fair environment. Officials emphasized that coordination between the government and the Commission would be crucial in overcoming logistical and security challenges.
Legal Amendments Under Review
Bhattarai further stated that discussions also covered the need to make necessary amendments to existing election-related laws. The government has intensified consultations with stakeholders to ensure smooth preparations ahead of the election date.
