Election Commission Calls for Listing of Firms to Transport Poll Materials

Kathmandu: The Election Commission has urged concerned firms and companies to come forward for the transportation of essential materials required for the upcoming election of members of the House of Representatives scheduled for Falgun 21.

According to the Commission, helicopters, trucks and containers will be used to transport election materials. Firms or companies operating courier and transportation services have been invited to apply for listing with the Commission.

Interested service providers must submit applications fulfilling the prescribed conditions. The required documents include copies of operating licences issued by the concerned authorities, value-added tax (VAT) registration certificates, tax clearance certificates up to the fiscal year 2081–82, and certificates showing transaction details for the past three fiscal years.

For helicopter rental services, the minimum average annual transaction amount for the last three fiscal years must be at least Rs 30 million. Firms providing truck and container services are required to show transactions of Rs 10 million, while courier service providers must submit transaction details of at least Rs 3 million.

Courier service companies are also required to submit details of their offices and representatives in all 77 districts, including telephone and mobile numbers, along with their applications.

The Commission stated that applications submitted for listing in more than one category will not be considered. It has also clarified that it reserves the right to include or exclude any firm or company from the listing process.
