Voting Underway Today for 17 National Assembly Seats Across Seven Provinces

Kathmandu: Voting is being held today from 9 am to 3 pm for the election of members to 18 National Assembly posts that will fall vacant from Falgun 20, 2082.
One Candidate Elected Unopposed
The Election Commission has informed that Nepali Congress candidate Sunil Bahadur Thapa from the Khas Arya category of Koshi Province has already been elected unopposed. As a result, voting is being conducted today for the remaining 17 posts only.
Preparations Completed Nationwide
According to the Election Commission, all necessary preparations have been completed in all seven provinces for the election. Polling stations and polling centers have been designated to ensure a smooth voting process.
Polling Centers Fixed in All Provinces
Election Commission spokesperson Narayan Prasad Bhattarai said that voting arrangements have been made at designated locations in each province.
Eligible Voters
As per the constitutional provision, members of the provincial assemblies as well as local level chiefs, deputy chiefs, chairpersons and vice-chairpersons are eligible voters in the National Assembly election.
The Election Commission has expressed confidence that the voting process will be conducted in a peaceful and orderly manner across the country.
