Bheriganga (Surkhet): Concerns have been raised about potential psycho-social problems among earthquake survivors in the quake-hit areas, emphasizing the need for increased attention to psycho-social counseling. A psychiatric doctor highlighted the importance of providing counseling, particularly to women and children who are experiencing fear due to the earthquake.

Citizens in earthquake-affected areas have been mentally and psychologically traumatized, noted Dr. Purna Rawal, a Psychiatric Doctor at Karnali Province Hospital. He recommended that the government implement a comprehensive psycho-social program in these areas, considering the ongoing frequency of aftershocks and the precarious mental condition of the citizens.

"Aftershocks are frequent in the areas. Citizens are in a precarious condition. Psycho-social problems can be seen among the people in such a situation. All three tiers of governments should pay attention to psycho-social counseling along with relief and rehabilitation," added Dr. Rawal.

In response to these concerns, the Karnali Province government has deployed a team of psychosocial counselors to the field to provide counseling services.
