Chitwan: In a press statement at Bharatpur Airport in Chitwan district, Nepali Congress (NC) President Sher Bahadur Deuba emphasized the irreplaceability of the republican system in the country. Dismissing any need for an alternative, Deuba, also a former Prime Minister, stated firmly, "There is no point in opposing the republican system. It is not going to change."

Addressing concerns about potential disturbances caused by 'anti-republican activities' within political parties, Deuba categorically denied any such disruptions. When queried about the power-sharing consensus in the current coalition, he remained evasive, stating, "You will know for yourself" in response to questions regarding the exercise of power sharing.

Meanwhile, NC leader Dr. Shashanka Koirala expressed skepticism about the reinstatement of monarchy but acknowledged citizens' discontent with the government's performance. Calling for unity among political parties, Dr. Koirala stressed the need to address doubts regarding the governance system. Despite recognizing the necessity of federalism in the country, he raised questions about the current structure and urged political collaboration to clarify citizens' concerns.

On a separate note, Dr. Koirala, an elected House of Representatives member from Nawalpur constituency no. 1, voiced dissatisfaction with the progress of the Narayangadh-Butwal road project. He pledged to address this issue in parliament, having reportedly inquired about its non-completion multiple times with no resolution.
