Kathmandu: The Department of Hydrology and Meteorology, Meteorological Forecasting Division, has indicated partial influences of the Westerly wind in the country, leading to cloudy weather with the possibility of light rain and snowfall.
According to Pratibha Manandhar, a senior meteorologist at the Division, Kathmandu's sky will be partly cloudy to generally clear, with potential light rain in high hilly and mountainous regions.
While the hilly region experiences cloudy weather, sporadic to light rainfall is expected in one or two places in the high hilly and mountainous regions. Manandhar emphasized the increasing cold in the Tarai region during fog cover and in the high hilly and mountainous areas due to potential cloudy and light rainfall.
The weekly weather forecast for agriculture (January 19-25) anticipates the partial impact of the Westerly wind throughout the week. There's a likelihood of light to moderate rainfall and snowfall in some mountainous areas of Karnali province mid-week and towards the weekend. Additionally, intermittent to light rain and snowfall is expected in the mountainous region of Koshi province, along with the possibility of light rain in the hilly regions of Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, and Karnali provinces.
Temperatures are predicted to slightly decrease, with the Division forecasting light to moderate fog in the Tarai region and dense fog in specific areas, gradually dissipating towards noon and afternoon.
