Federal Civil Service Bill to be Expedited Through Parliament, Says PM Dahal

Kathmandu: During a program marking the 20th Civil Service Day in Kathmandu, Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal 'Prachanda' expressed his confidence that the Federal Civil Service Bill would be passed by the parliament as soon as possible. He stated that the Council of Ministers had decided to send the bill to parliament and believed it would be endorsed through political party consensus.

PM Dahal assured that the government was committed to making the civil administration competitive at both national and international levels by enhancing its morale, transparency, efficiency, and technology-friendliness. He acknowledged the vital role of civil servants in the country's political changes and praised their contributions.

The prime minister emphasized that the government's major task was to institutionalize political changes and lead the nation toward social justice, good governance, and prosperity. He underlined the importance of the civil administration delivering under political guidance to achieve long-term goals in these areas.

Dahal also expressed confidence that the civil servants would actively participate in transforming the nation and implementing federalism, governance structures, and public service delivery. He stressed the need for qualitative changes in the civil administration in line with constitutional provisions and called the Federal Civil Service Act a milestone in institutionalizing administrative federalism.

The Prime Minister further stated that diligent and capable employees dedicated to the service of the nation would be motivated by a system of rewards and punishments in the future. He reaffirmed the government's commitment to strengthening the civil service and its role in the federal democratic republic.
