Morang: Pushpa Kamal Dahal 'Prachanda,' Chairman of CPN (Maoist Center) and former Prime Minister, stated that the Constitution can be amended to grant more rights to the people. Speaking to the media at Biratnagar Airport this evening, he emphasized that the Constitution could be revised to empower oppressed castes, regions, and communities.
"However, we will take to the streets if the right of inclusion and proportional representation are curtailed," Prachanda asserted. He also advocated for a fully proportional system, deeming it suitable for a multilingual, multi-ethnic, and multicultural country like Nepal.
On another note, Dahal, who also leads the main opposition party, insisted that the leadership of the House of Representatives Public Accounts Committee should be given to the opposition, in line with established practice.
