Kathmandu: CPN (Maoist Centre) Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal, known as Prachanda, reiterated his party's commitment to strengthening and expanding the rights of Nepali citizens through ongoing campaigns. Addressing a large gathering organized by the party’s Bagmati Province Committee, Prachanda emphasized that protecting and advancing people’s rights remains central to the Maoist Centre’s mission.

Reflecting on past achievements, he highlighted his government's success in establishing a power trade agreement with India, advancing economic growth, and ensuring good governance, while maintaining a balanced foreign policy with both China and India. Prachanda also announced that his party plans to contest the upcoming elections independently, aiming to emerge as Nepal's largest political force.

Prachanda further mentioned that efforts are underway to unify various Maoist factions, which he believes will strengthen the party's influence. Additionally, he argued that irregularities in the nation’s governance are tied to the current electoral structure, advocating for a shift to a fully proportional electoral system and a directly elected executive chief to enhance accountability and transparency.

Senior Vice-Chairman Narayankaji Shrestha echoed Prachanda’s vision, emphasizing the importance of accelerating economic development as a follow-up to Nepal’s political transformations. Shrestha stated that the Maoist Centre seeks to lay the groundwork for socialism with unique characteristics, focusing on protecting the rights of the working class and farmers. Other party leaders also reiterated their dedication to launching proactive campaigns to serve the interests of Nepali citizens.
