Kathmandu: Today's weather forecast predicts heavy rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms in various parts of the country. The monsoon wind's influence is expected to cause rainfall, strong winds, and storms in some regions.

The Meteorological Forecasting Division of the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology has reported light to medium rainfall occurring in Karnali, Gandaki, Bagmati, and Koshi provinces. There will be partial to general changes in weather conditions across the country.

During the afternoon, there will be widespread changes throughout the country. Sudurpaschim, Karnali, Lumbini, Gandaki, and Bagmati provinces may experience light to moderate rainfall, accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning in a few places. In Karnali, Lumbini, and Gandaki provinces, heavy rainfall is expected.

Storms are likely to occur in several areas of Lumbini, Gandaki, and Bagmati provinces, as well as in some parts of the remaining provinces, as stated in a bulletin published by the Division.

Tonight, general to complete changes in weather are expected nationwide. The Division forecasts light to moderate rain, thunderstorms, and lightning in certain areas of Lumbini, Gandaki, Madhes, and Koshi provinces.

The Division has advised people to take necessary safety precautions as heavy rainfall with thunderstorms may affect surface and air travel, health, agriculture, and tourism sectors.
