Kathmandu: The Department of Hydrology and Meteorology has indicated that a partial influence of local and westerly winds, along with a low-pressure zone from Uttar Pradesh to West Bangladesh in India, is affecting the weather in Nepal.
The weather will be partly to generally cloudy in the hilly regions, including Bagmati Province, with light to moderate rain accompanied by thunder and lightning expected at one or two locations in Bagmati and Gandaki provinces.
According to the Meteorological Forecasting Division, this afternoon will see partly to generally cloudy weather in the hilly regions of Koshi, Madhes, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces. Light to moderate rain with thunder and lightning is anticipated in some parts of Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces, as well as a few places in Madhes, Lumbini, and Karnali provinces. There is also a chance of storms in some areas of Koshi, Madhes, Karnali, and Lumbini provinces. Additionally, one or two places in the high hilly and mountainous regions may experience light snowfall.
Tonight, the weather will remain partly to generally cloudy in the hilly regions while being fair in the rest of the country. Light to moderate rain with thunder and lightning is expected at a few places in Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces, and at one or two places in Madhes, Lumbini, and Karnali provinces, as well as the rest of the country over the next 24 hours.
The Department has advised people to take precautionary measures due to the possible occurrence of storms in one or two places in Koshi, Madhes, Karnali, and Lumbini provinces.
