Bagmati: In a significant development, the Makawanpur Police apprehended four individuals for their involvement in assaulting two doctors at a hospital chamber in Hetauda.

The victims, Dr. Bikas Thapa and Dr. Prashant Biradi, both affiliated with the Hetauda-based Sancho Hospital, were subjected to physical violence while attending to patients in the HDU Ward of the hospital.

The arrests were made in response to widespread public and healthcare community protests demanding justice for the assaulted doctors.

According to the available information, the incident occurred on Wednesday evening and was allegedly prompted by accusations of negligence on the part of the doctors in the treatment of Rajesh Pradhan, a 41-year-old resident of Hetauda-12, Padampokhari, who tragically passed away.

It should be noted that a month earlier, a group of individuals had confronted the doctors over what they perceived as inadequate care for Pradhan, who was suffering from dengue fever. Due to the severity of his condition, Pradhan had been referred to Chitwan Medical College in Bharatpur, as Sancho Hospital was unable to provide the necessary treatment.

Tragically, Pradhan succumbed to the dengue infection while at the medical college, leading to an angry confrontation between the doctors and an irate group of people.

In light of these events, the police have taken action by arresting not only Pradhan's wife and daughter but also two other individuals for their alleged participation in the assault on the doctors.

An ongoing investigation into the incident is being conducted by the police to determine the full extent of the circumstances surrounding the assault.
